Live mode
Watch traffic land as it happens.
What live mode shows
- Active visitors: how many people are on your site right now.
- Activity feed: every pageview as it happens, with country, device, and referrer.
- Top current pages: what people are reading at this moment.
- Active sources: where the live traffic is coming from.
Two ways to use it
Realtime page
Open Realtime from the site sidebar for a dedicated full-page view. Best for launches and ambient display on a second monitor.
Live toggle on the dashboard
Click the live indicator in the dashboard toolbar to overlay live data on your existing time range: current visitor count updates in place, activity feed slides in.
How fresh is the data
The dashboard polls for new data every 10 secondswhile live mode is active. A visitor who lands now typically appears within 10–15 seconds.
Polling pauses when you switch tabs or minimize the window: no unnecessary requests when no one is watching. It resumes automatically when the tab is foregrounded again.
What counts as "active"
A visitor is shown as active if they have generated a pageview in the last 5 minutes. This matches the typical industry definition and accounts for normal reading time.
When to use it
Launches & campaigns
Watch the curve climb during a Product Hunt day, a newsletter send, or a press hit. Easy to see when a campaign actually kicks in vs your baseline.
Incident response
If something breaks, watch traffic patterns shift in realtime. Good complement to your error monitoring: Glyphex shows what users are doing, the error tool shows what is broken.
Demo days
Put live mode on a side monitor during investor demos or board meetings. Real activity is more compelling than any chart.
Set up alerts for big moments
If you want to be notified the moment traffic spikes (without leaving live mode open), set up a percentage-change alert on visitors. You will get an email when something starts moving.
